How would you like your child to have the chance of a lifetime? Where else can your child learn horsemanship from a professional horse trainer while handling Champion horses? Well, they can do that right here with us at Backyard Barn.

Your child is given the unique opportunity to interact & learn with our Champion Miniature Horses, plus other trustworthy steeds and current year miniature horse foals. We will be giving daily “driving” & “in-hand jumping” lessons, as well as basic horsemanship skills. They will have daily hands on with the horses, their tack, & equipment. Each child is given daily opportunities to interact with all the animals at the Backyard Barn, from rabbits to chicken to goats.

Learn from a professional equine trainer with over 30 years experience with horses and her highly qualified assistants that have been National Ranked for the past 10 years.

Do not let this opportunity pass your child by. Give him/her the chance to learn responsibility, integrity, patience, teamwork, & confidence by working with a miniature horse. Then, after a week of learning & fun; parents & family are welcome to come and see what campers have learned on Friday afternoon!

Spacing is limited to only FIVE “campers” during a week period, to give each child the individual attention they deserve.

What your “Camper” will need…

  • Comfortable clothing that is not to restrictive and is fine to get dirty. Taking care of horses is dirty work. Shorts are OK.
  • Comfortable boots or shoes, NO open toes, flip-flops or sandals.
  • A change of clothes, just in case.
  • A nutritious packed lunch brought from home with a drink. We will be providing at least two snacks/drinks during the day as well.
  • Sunscreen & bug spray.
  • Hat or visor to keep the sun off campers face.
  • We have camp, rain or shine, so a light jacket might be needed in case it gets chilly.

Safety is a priority for us at all times. We will be doing things safely, while still having fun. Riding helmets will be used at all times while learning to drive a miniature horse. In addition, hand sanitation will be common practice.
