Falabella AF Dama Quieta
A DIRECT IMPORT FROM ARGENTINA
AMHA A105284 / AMHR 247373A / FMHA 722
Foaled: 12/26/1990
Black Roan, Blanketed Appaloosa

Sire: AF Ayachucho
Dam: AF Primera Dama

"QUIETA" is a 100% pure, Argentine Falabella, a Black roan, blanketed appaloosa mare. She is a direct import from the Maria Angelica Falabella Farms in Argentina.

Many times the name of the Falabella horse helps to determine their identity. Horses like Dama Quieta, having the name "Falabella" coming first, indicates that this horse was born in Argentina, and was imported directly from the Argentina farm. Then, the "AF" indicates that the horse was owned by (Maria) Angelica Falabella -- daughter of the infamous Julio Falabella. So in Quieta's case, we know she was born at the Argentine Falabella farm, and was owned and imported to the United States by Angelica Falabella.

Quieta has a nice large blanket with black spots. She has continued to age with the appaloosa roaning, and although beginning life as a black roan blanketed mare, she is continuing to roan to almost white with her black spots and points. This "appaloosa roaning" effect is more clearly explained on "THE APPALOOSA PROJECT" website.

Since arriving in the United States, Quieta has traveled across the US at least 4-5 times. She has always been considered a Falabella treasure, and has produced beautiful foals when bred to a variety of Falabella stallions. Quieta is triple registered with the FMHA, and the American registries, and will ultimately be permanently retired at Castle Rock.

Falabella AF Granada
A DIRECT IMPORT FROM ARGENTINA

AMHR 295988A / FMHA 591
Foaled: 07/04/1989
Black Pinto, Short Strip, 4 White Stockings

Sire: Falabella AF Empersario
Dam: Falabella AF Sweet Dreams

"GRANADA" is a 100% pure, Argentine Falabella, a Black pinto mare. She is a direct import from the Julio Falabella Farm in Argentina. She was brought to the US by Maria Angelica Falabella for the Falabella Expo in 1998, because of her great beauty and confirmation.

I consider Granada a "GRAND DAM" -- a piece of Falabella history, who proves to the world that the Falabella mares continue to produce well into their 20's. Falabellas have an outstanding record of living a long healthy life and generally are known to live longer than the American Mini counter-part. They are healthy and strong well into the later years and often produce well into their twenties without benefit of AI.

Granada has been both in Canada and the United States, sharing her outstanding offspring with many Falabella breeders who want to take their lines directly to the Argenine farm "close-up".

Falabella AF Daniela
A DIRECT IMPORT FROM ARGENTINA

AMHA A106856 / FMHA 1072
Foaled: 04/01/1999
Tri-color, Buckskin Pinto

Sire: Falabella AF El Grande Bandido
Dam: Falabella AF Dulcinea

"DANIELA" is a 100% pure, Argentine Falabella, a tri-colored, buckskin pinto mare. She is a direct import from the Maria Angelica Falabella Farms in Argentina.

Many times the name of the Falabella horse helps to determine their identity. Horses like Daniela, having the name "Falabella" coming first, indicates that this horse was born in Argentina, and was imported directly from the Argentina farm. Then, the "AF" indicates that the horse was owned by (Maria) Angelica Falabella -- daughter of the infamous Julio Falabella. So in Daniela's case, we know she was born at the Argentine Falabella farm, and was owned and imported to the United States by Maria Angelica Falabella.

Daniela is VERY tiny, and measures 28.00" tall. With her dilute color, we are looking forward to adding her to our program. We are very happy to have her here at Castle Rock.

ICM & Castle Rock's Little Lola Rey

Born with 16 inches of "Look At Me" attitude!

AMHA pending / AMHR pending / FMHA pending
Foaled: 08/01/2010
Black Pintaloosa

Sire: Toyland Tamboro
Dam: Tricettas ER Dar Z

"LOLA" is a 100% pure, Argentine lines Falabella, a black Pintaloosa filly--having both the pinto and leopard color patterns. She is a direct daughter of TOYLAND TAMBORO, an outstanding Snowcap or near-fewspot Appaloosa, sired by TOYLAND PORTENTOSO. Tamboro's grandsire is PORTENTO, a black-blanketed appaloosa, with large black spots, out of GROSSHILL'S COMOFIN, a 29" black leopard appaloosa, purchased for $50,000 by the Grosshill Farm, who traveled to Argentina to choose a stallion, and imported him from Argentina. LOLA has the "LOOK AT ME!!" presence, and we expect her to take her place beside her exceptional grandsire, El Rey, in the winning show ring!

Lola's dam is a direct daughter of GROSSHILL'S EL REY, an AMHA National Top Ten Senior Stallion, and senior herd sire here at Castle Rock. EL REY (in utero), LA RUINA and CINCHA, whose Argentine lineage is one of exceptional quality were imported to the US for THE LIMITED COLLECTION sale in 1988 from the Argentine farm. Lola's unique "black head" coloring can be traced to her imported granddam, CINCHA. This pretty trait has now passed through 4 generations, and with white snips and strips creates a most beautiful face, with large, perfectly placed eyes and well-defined jaw reminiscent of her Great-grandsire, LA RUINA, a true "MACHO" herd sire.

Toyland Misara

AMHA A181627 / AMHR 295187T / FMHA 1179
Foaled: 06/14/2007
Bay Appaloosa

Sire: Falabella Guille, Imported
Dam: Toyland Charlada

"MISSY" is a 100% pure, Argentine lines Falabella, a bay appaloosa mare--having no distinctive appaloosa patterning, but showing all the appaloosa characteristics of mottling, sclera, striped hooves and roaning. She is a direct daughter of FALABELLA GUILLE, (pronounced Guy) is a 29.75" exceptional Black Leopard Appaloosa IMPORTED as a young stallion from Senor Falabella himself, at the Falabella farm in Argentina. Guille has superior qualities which he passes on to his offspring, first and foremost, being a perfect bite, perfect legs and show type conformation. He has beautiful movement with his head held high and a smooth, gliding trot like artistry in motion. Most important, Guille has 100% Argentine ancestry with totally different ancestors from most other Falabellas in the US.

Missy's dam is a direct daughter of TOYLAND BUTTONEER, a black few spot leopard appaloosa stallion, out of FLABY'S PICANTE with TOYLAND LOLLAPALOOSA, both direct Argentine Falabella imports. On the bottom side, Missy's dam is a Granddaughter of the imported stallion "WACO" from Argentina, under the better known name of TOYLAND ZODIAC, a black leopard appaloosa, one of the top producing Falabella stallions in the US, and the "heart" of the breeding program at Toyland Miniature Horses.

Golden Future La Mesma Falabella

AMHA A64893 / AMHR 63878A / FMHA
Foaled: 07/24/1994
Black Leopard Appaloosa

Sire: Portento
Dam: Hortensia

"GOLDIE" is a 100% Argentine lines Falabella, a black leopard appaloosa mare.

Goldie's sire, PORTENTO, is a black-blanketed appaloosa, with large black spots and was purchased for $25,000 at 3 years of age. Portento is son of GROSSHILL'S COMOFIN, a 29' black leopard appaloosa, purchased for $50,000 by the Grosshill Farm, who traveled to Argentina to choose a stallion, and imported him from Argentina. Portento's dam, LA MESMA, was sold for $25,000 at "THE LIMITED COLLECTION SALE" and was the top selling mare at that Falabella Sale. She was Lot 28, a black mare, foaled in August 13, 1982, and was 31 inches. The mares that were sold at THE LIMITED COLLECTION SALE were chosen due to their high degree of conformation, refinement, movement and overall beauty. La Mesma was no exception.

Goldie's dam, HORTENSIA FALABELLA, was out of two Argentine Falabellas: her sire being CORVILLON and dam, GRASA.

Toyland Blessie

AMHA A139454 / AMHR 231246A / FMHA 747
Foaled: 02/17/2001
Seal Black Appaloosa with Mottling

Sire: Toyland Portentoso
Dam: Toyland Tiara Mist

"BLESSIE" is a 100% Argentine lines Falabella, a beautiful "Seal Brown" appaloosa mare. She has a pretty head and show type conformation, with lots of mottling and other Appaloosa characteristics.

Her sire, TOYLAND PORTENTOSO, is a 32.00" Snowcap Appaloosa, out of PORTENTO, a black Appaloosa son of GROSSHILLS COMOFIN, an imported, top quality 29" Black Leopard Appaloosa from the Falabella farm in Argentina. Blessie's dam is Toyland Tiara Mist, a 32.50" solid black mare, who is sired by "WACO" also known as "Toyland Zodiac", an IMPORTED 31" Black Leopard Appaloosa Falabella stallion. Zodiac produced many loud colored appaloosa foals, and proved himself to be a most prolific and valued sire. Sadly he was lost in 2004, but his reputation as one of the TOP Falabella stallions in the US, and in many parts of the world is the heritage left to us.

As a "Toyland" Falabella, who are bred to carry the BLACK gene, we are hoping to assure a higher percentage of intense "base colors" such as Black, Bay and Chestnut, which are highly desirable to us in our "COLOR" breeding program. Blessie is a proven broodmare, having produced an outstanding black appaloosa colt, a beautiful black blanketed filly--lost when it didn't get out of the sack--and a beautiful black appaloosa filly in 2010. We are looking forward to great things with this beautiful Fallabella mare, as part of our Falabella Appaloosa broodmare herd.

Toyland Celena of Castle Rock

AMHA A180594 / AMHR 283280T / FMHA 1161
Sorrel Near Leopard Appaloosa (May become a full Leopard)
Foaled: 04/01/2007

Sire: Falabella Guille' (Argentine Import)
Dam: Toyland Cee Cee

"CELENA" is a 100% Argentine lines Falabella, a sorrel, near-leopard appaloosa mare. Born a tiny 17.5" with a colorful blanket, she has not done much growing and is still a petite under 28" mare. She is the cause of Castle Rock searching and finding ICF Ferrari--as her future "groom!" Although born a beautiful little black blanketed filly, she has continued to color, and look how beautiful she is!

The most amazing thing about Celena is her extreme Arabian strut with her tail flying in the air. She lifts her head and her legs up high, as she does her floating trot! It's a most beautiful sight. This is a rare and highly valued trait, which we hope she will pass on to her future offspring. Celena was born with a perfect bite and has well balanced conformation. She has strong Appaloosa genes with both her sire and dam being Leopard Appaloosas. She should be a top color producer for us in the future.

Most important, Guille has 100% Argentine ancestry, with totally different ancestors from most other Falabella in the USA.

Celena's dam is Toyland Cee Cee, a 30.00" Sorrel Few Spot Appaloosa, who is small and correct and a wonderful color producer, obviously. We are looking forward to great things with this beautiful, little Falabella mare. And we thank her for bringing Ferrari to Castle Rock!! If she had grown, we'd never have looked for this outstanding small stallion!

Joses Caballito

AMHA A41183 / FMHA 1026
Foaled: 05/01/1991
Blue Roan Appaloosa

Sire: Shadow Oaks Jose
Dam: Fancy Gold

"JOSIE" is a 100% Argentine lines Falabella, blue roan appaloosa mare, whose sire "JOSE", comes from that special line of Falabellas, known as the "Winery-bred" Falabellas.

JOSE'S sire, HFS Senor, (also known as HFS Senior) was one of the original twelve Falabellas imported from the Falabella Ranch in Argentina, to the US in 1962, by John B. Ellena of the Regina Winery. It is well documented that Mr. Ellena decided that these tiny horses would be a great attraction for his Winery. In 1965, Mr. Ellena used six of his Falabella horses to pull the famous scaled down stagecoach which displayed the words "Regina Winery Stage Line, Buenos-Aires Argentina". Jose is a direct son of this famous imported Falabella stallion, Senor.

One of the most famous imports to the Regina Winery, was CHIANTI -- known as the Grandfather of Appaloosas, who was notably an incredible Falabella Horse who made his mark on the American miniature horses of today. More about Chianti will be shared later.

Our "JOSIE" can therefore be considered a "Winery-bred" Falabella, as her sire, JOSE, is also the sire of her dam, Fancy Gold, so the winery lines are on the top and bottom of her pedigree. Josie is a special Falabella--who will be adding her exceptional breeding to the farm, bringing those sought-after Winery lines to our broodmare herd.

Wishfull Falabella Ice Princess

AMHR 288045T / FMHA 1236
Foaled: 05/03/2007
Black Pinto

Sire: Drays Ondray
Dam: JAC's Nueva Commienzo

"PRINCESS" is a 100% Argentine lines Falabella, a black pinto mare. Like many horses in our Falabella program, she can also trace her lines back to EL REY, our senior Falabella stallion, multiple times.

Her sire, "Dray's Ondray" is a gorgeous solid black Falabella stallion, out of IMPORTED STALLION, FALABELLA MLF FLORIANO. Floriano is a Julio & Maria Luisa Falabella bred stallion out of MLF Compadron and MLF Ultilisma, from the Argentina farm of Julio Falabella. Ondray's dam is TOYLAND SERENA, out of TOYLAND BUTTONEER, a black leopard appaloosa fewspot, out of two IMPORTED Falabellas: FLABY'S PICANTE, and TOYLAND LOLLAPALOOSA.

Princess' dam, JAC's Nueva Commienzo, is out of SREENANS PRETZEL--a grandson of EL REY, and SREENANS CROOKED ARROW--a direct daughter of EL REY--and SREENANS KATARINA - out of LOLLIPOP, a direct IMPORT from the Falabella Farms in Argentina.

There is a lot of exquisite Black Pinto breeding behind this girl, and indeed, her first foal, out of an EL REY grandson, is an outstanding Black Pinto colt--of true Argentine stallion quality.
