Senior Herd Falabella Stallion:
Grosshill's El Rey
AMHA 29587 / AMHR 36469A / FMHA 354
Foaled: 08/11/1989
Black & White Pinto
Sire: La Ruina (Argentine import)
Dam: Cincha (Argentine import)
"El Rey" is a true 100% Argentina bred, Falabella stallion, whose name speaks for itself among Falabella breeders. El Rey is 31" and is an AMHA National Top Ten Senior Stallion. Born of imported parents, he has fathered over 30 registered AMHA/AMHR foals during his 20+ years. His record of foals is very positive with over 60% mares, and 80% pintos, many being show quality. As you can see from the pictures, El Rey has matured from his show days to a stallion of great presence, conformation and personality. El Rey has a sweet disposition, and treats his mares well. We are looking forward to several new Falabella and Falabella Blend tri-registered foals from this well known, established Falabella stallion.
Senior Herd Sire:
Sweetwaters Texas Spotty
AMHA A139672 / AMHR 255833A
Buckskin Leopard Appaloosa
Foaled 04/02/2002
Sire: Sweetwaters Gold Buckeroo
Dam: Kegleys Call Girl
Sweetwaters Texas Spotty is a buckskin leopard appaloosa stallion that is AMHA/AMHR registered and has the leggy, horsey look of the modern shetlands. He has a huge eye, balanced trim barrel, an upright neck that he can really hook over and a beautiful head. And not only is he pretty, but he moves like a dream! Spotty's first foals arrived in 2007 and each year he produces little carbon copies of himself. He stamps his long legged look, clean throat latch and pretty head on all his foals. We are excited to see his foals in the show ring. We are getting closer to meeting our goal of breeding loud appaloosa miniatures that are competitive at the very top levels. Even non appaloosa people look at our appaloosas and can't help but loving them because they are balanced, refined, pretty headed and beautiful!!
Spotty's pedigree includes Flying W Farms Little Blue Boy and Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King.
Awesome, refined, beautiful, spotted, incredible! We think Spotty has the potential to help take our appaloosa breeding program to the next level! WOW! Only time will tell so stay tuned!

"SILVERADO" - A PIECE OF LIVING HISTORY IN THE GOLD MELODY BOY DYNASTY!!!
DNA TESTED 50% GOLD MELODY BOY BLOODLINES, LAB TESTED TO CARRY THE DILUTE GENE!
DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS?
It took my breath away to be able to purchase this boy, and give him his "forever" home at Castle Rock. His sire was non-other than JOHNSTONS GOLD BOY. His dam, JOHNSTON'S SILVER, is the dam of WITTMAACKS MICKEY MOUSE, and is FULL SISTER to ROAN RANGER. THIS GOLD MELODY BOY LINE IS THE FACTORY WHERE THE BUCKEROO LINE HAD ITS BEGINNINGS.
Silverdo is the only surviving JOHNSTONS GOLD BOY stallion that carries 50% of the Gold Melody Boy bloodlines, as his sire and dam are direct Gold Melody Boy get.
It is truly a sad day when you realize that all of the Gold Melody Boy Sons are gone. These were the great ones that started it all, the ones who have brought so many of us together, and the ones whose legacy we will try to continue. To all the Gold Melody Boy breeders: It is not the end, but rather the beginning of what we can do to continue the Gold Melody Boy tradition. May GMB live on in each and every one of us.
Rest in Peace...
GOLD MELODY BOY 1962-1983
Roan Ranger 1974-1998

Palomino Few-spot Appaloosa - Foaled 3/19/2006
Sire: WF Carousel Designer Legacy
Dam: Sulphura's Apache Promise
"Ticket" is an incredibly beautiful palomino few-spot appaloosa colt, sired by Carousel Designer Legacy, an AMHA National Top 10 stallion in Open Halter, Top 5 in Driving, Top 5 in Multi-Color Stallions/Geldings and a Reserve Honor Roll in Open Country Pleasure Driving. Designer Legacy was also the 1999 Western Region Grand Champion in Country Pleasure Driving, and is a stallion with balance, fluid movement and the attitude of royalty that he passes on to his offspring. Ticket's dam is a brown snowcap appaloosa mare carrying the dilute gene. Ticket, a registered Falabella Blend, is intensely appaloosa bred, with the big names in the industry--he is double-bred Broken Lance, going back to Francisco of Kilverstone and Menelek, the most famous and one of the most prolific of the pure Falabella stallions. He also traces his roots to Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan, Dell Teras Jim Dandy and the legendary Chianti.
Ticket was shown in the AMHR show ring, and earned several titles, including Multiple Grand & Reserve Grand Champion and Junior Champion & Reserve Junior Champion Stallion, and he was named a 2007 TOP TEN NATIONAL ALL-STAR WINNER (8th). We are so pleased he is continuing the "legacy!"
Senior Herd Sire:
Royal M Cream Puff
AMHA A124238 / AMHR 245249A
Foaled: 04/15/2001
Cremello
Sire: Little Americas X Bay
Dam: Horse Pen Creeks Julees Angel Doll
"Puffer" is one of the most beautiful cremello stallions we have found. He is not a little, chunky, short-legged horse, but an elegant, tiny horse with style, bringing together some of the most wonderful lines in miniature horse history. When inquiring about Puffer's sire, LITTLE AMERICA'S X BAY, his breeder said this about him: "When one is in the business of breeding and selling miniature horses and has a herd of over 200, many times the best are sold. I would say that was the case. We considered X Bay's dam, Melodee, to be our best mare and the foundation of our tiny breeding program." LITTLE AMERICA'S E BAY, the sire of Young's Little Cupid, a National Grand Champion Roadster horse, a 6-time National Champion and 5-time Reserve National Champion Roadster and Pleasure driving horse, is a direct son of XENON LIGHT VAN'T HUTTENEST, a Reserve National Champion Junior multi-color stallion, and multiple Grand Champion in Halter. XENON is the sire of many National Top Tens, Grand Champion sires, and National Grand Champion Driving horses as well as Supreme Halter Horses. And who would doubt this record, since XENON is an own son of the infamous ORION LIGHT VAN'T HUTTENEST! This exceptional foundation stallion is known as the leading sire of National & Reserve National Grand Champions in AMHA history!!!
Puffer also has direct lines to Double O Seven and A Half Moto, a National Grand Champion Senior Stallion, and Double O Seven Moto, as well as the well known lines of Dell Teras and Komokos on the top and bottom. Puffer traces back to the foundation stallions and mares that have become famous for their contributions to the breed.
Puffer will bring the critical cream gene to all his foals, helping to expand our dilute appaloosa program. We look forward to his first foals for Castle Rock the spring of 2011. Hopefully his mares will insist their foals be spotted, as well!!!
Junior Herd Sire:
Appy Hollow Impressive Surprise
AMHR 281673T - will be hardshipped into AMHA
Chestnut Leopard Appaloosa
Foaled 05/11/2007
Sire: Appy Hollow Impressive Legend RR
Dam: 4 G's HF One Chance Fancy
This is one "IMPRESSIVE" young man! Look at his pedigree! It's like "Who's Who" in Appaloosas! "Hanny" brings back a powerful performance presence and performance pedigree to Castle Rock. On the top side, his sire is none other than APPY HOLLOW IMPRESSIVE LEGEND RR, Champion Junior Stallion and 2004 Top Ten Multi-color Stallion (Halter, Jumping and more) out of F. HERITAGE WARBUCKS IMPRESSUM and HOF Mare: TRIPLE H HOTSPOTTED LEGENDARY EBONY! His Grand-dam did it all! She was Hall of Fame in Country Pleasure Driving, titled in Halter and Jumping/Versatility. And l@@k who else is hiding back there: LANDRYS DADDY WARBUCK--multiple Grand and Reserve Champion Halter Horse, Multiple Youth and Open Pleasure Driving Champion and Open Roadster Champion--son of SHADOW OAKS COCK ROBIN, CHIANTI--the Falabella "grandfather of all miniature miniatures", and even LEGENDARYS BULLET, SHADOW OAKS FRECKLES and more!!!
And it doesn't stop there: we LOVE the fact that he goes back to ROWDY, himself! There are just too many to list!!
This boy is built to move! He has outstanding performance conformation, color and pedigree and we are most excited to add him to our program: he's correct enough for Halter and strong enough for bringing solid performance horses back to Castle Rock.
Junior Herd Sire:
Castle Rocks Spotted Melody Boy
AMHA pending / AMHR pending
Foaled: 04/04/2008
Buckskin Blanketed
Sire: Seahorse Gold Melody Bar (Son of Johnston's Gold Bar)
Dam: Teacher's Pet Eva Gabor (Daughter of Zsa Zsa, Gold Melody Boy daughter)
This spotted boy is an ultra refined and pretty headed colt, AND he's got a wonderful pedigree to go with his looks! Just look at the legs and the refinement in his head, the beautiful upheaded carriage and the total elegance this boy shows! With his multiple "up-close" crosses to GOLD MELODY BOY, one of the most recognizable and prepotent lines in Miniature horses today, carrying tremendous Arabian type, balance and elegance, he is everything we were looking for ++ Appaloosa spots.
He is sired by SEAHORSE GOLD MELODY BAR, a/k/a Junior. Junior is sired by JOHNSTON'S GOLD BAR, A DIRECT SON OF GOLD MELODY BOY, and out of AF PRINCESS MELODY, who is by WITTMAACKS MICKEY MOUSE, the only linebred son of GOLD MELODY BOY.
His dam, Eva is out of a mare named ZSA ZSA, a direct daughter of GOLD MELODY BOY!! (see Eva on our Mares page) Add to that, Eva was sired by Lancasters Iron Eagle, son of National Champion Komokos Dark Destroyer from Komokos Little Husseler, a FOUNDATION miniature stallion producer of National Champions, and Eva's sire comes from National Grand Champions on the top and bottom of his pedigree.
GOLD MELODY BOY LINES AND SPOTS!! OUR DREAM COME TRUE. We look forward to his future here at Castle Rock, bringing his beauty and elegance with spots, to future Tompkins Silverado fillies.
