Senior Herd Falabella Stallion:

Grosshill's El Rey

AMHA 29587 / AMHR 36469A / FMHA 354
Foaled: 08/11/1989
Black & White Pinto

Sire: La Ruina (Argentine import)
Dam: Cincha (Argentine import)

"El Rey" is a true 100% Argentina bred, Falabella stallion, whose name speaks for itself among Falabella breeders. El Rey is 31" and is an AMHA National Top Ten Senior Stallion. Born of imported parents, he has fathered 34 registered AMHA/AMHR foals during his 18 years. His record of foals is very positive with over 60% mares, and 80% pintos, many being show quality. As you can see from the pictures, El Rey has matured from his show days to a stallion of great presence, conformation and personality. El Rey has a sweet disposition, and treats his mares well. We are looking forward to several new Falabella and Falabella Blend tri-registered foals for 2008, from this well known, established Falabella stallion.

Senior Herd Sire:

Sweetwaters Texas Spotty

AMHA A139672 / AMHR 255833A
Buckskin Leopard Appaloosa
Foaled 04/02/2002

Sire: Sweetwaters Gold Buckeroo
Dam: Kegleys Call Girl

Sweetwaters Texas Spotty is a buckskin leopard appaloosa stallion that is AMHA/AMHR registered and has the leggy, horsey look of the modern shetlands. He has a huge eye, balanced trim barrel, an upright neck that he can really hook over and a beautiful head. And not only is he pretty, but he moves like a dream!

Spotty's first foals have arrived in 2007 and they are little carbon copies of Spotty. He stamps his long legged look, clean throat latch and pretty head on all his foals. We are excited to see his foals in the show ring. We are getting closer to meeting our goal of breeding loud appaloosa miniatures that are competitive at the very top levels. Even non appaloosa people look at our appaloosas and can't help but loving them because they are balanced, refined, pretty headed and beautiful!! [Co-owned by Castle Rock Miniature Horse Farm & Critter Creek (CCMF)]

Spotty's pedigree includes Flying W Farms Little Blue Boy and Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King.

Awesome, refined, beautiful, spotted, incredible! We think Spotty has the potential to help take our appaloosa breeding program to the next level! WOW! Only time will tell so stay tuned!

Senior Herd Sire:

Tompkins Silverado

AMHA A 22991 / AMHR 99254A
Foaled: 06/02/1988 - 28.5"
Chocolate Palomino with Flaxen Mane & Tail

Sire: Johnston’s Gold Boy (Son of Gold Melody Boy)
Dam: Johnston’s Silver (Daughter of Gold Melody Boy)

"SILVERADO" - A PIECE OF LIVING HISTORY IN THE GOLD MELODY BOY DYNASTY!!!

DNA TESTED 50% GOLD MELODY BOY BLOODLINES, LAB TESTED TO CARRY THE DILUTE GENE!
DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS?

It took my breath away to be able to purchase this boy, and give him his "forever" home at Castle Rock. His sire is non-other than JOHNSTONS GOLD BOY, one of 2 remaining sons and the smallest foal ever sired by the Legendary FOUNDATION STALLION: GOLD MELODY BOY. His dam, JOHNSTON’S SILVER, is the dam of WITTMAACKS MICKEY MOUSE, and is FULL SISTER to ROAN RANGER. THIS GOLD MELODY BOY LINE IS THE FACTORY WHERE THE BUCKEROO LINE HAD ITS BEGINNINGS.

There are only 5 surviving Gold Melody Boy stallions that carry 50% of the Gold Melody Boy bloodlines. SILVERADO IS ONE!

We are also very excited about Silverado carrying the dilute C cr gene that produces Palominos and Buckskins. Silverado has produced Isabella Palominos and Cremello's when bred to Bays, Sorrels and Palominos, and has 25 registered foals, with 6 due in 2008. We look forward to his continued success in the breeding shed, especially with our mares carrying the dilute gene + SPOTS! This should bring something special to the 2009 foaling season for Castle Rock.

The first mare on our list for Silverado, is Eclipse, the daughter of WITTMAACKS ECLIPSE, another direct son of JOHNSTONS GOLD BOY, once again concentrating the Gold Melody Boy lines. We can't wait to see the tremendous Arabian type, with the elegance and balance of the Gold Melody Boy bloodline that this prepotent little stallion should produce in this 2009 foal.

Senior Herd Sire:

Sunrise Hill Farm Spots Supreme

AMHA A141277 / AMHR 271276T / FBR Pending
Foaled: 05/12/2003
Silver Near Leopard Appaloosa

Sire: Lucky Four Spots A Plenty
Dam: Avalon Farms Royals Contessa

"Zeus" is a 32.50" coming 5 year old, and is taking his place here at Castle Rock to become one of our senior appaloosa herd stallions. He joins Sweetwaters Texas Spotty, and our three junior appaloosa herd stallions, and his first Castle Rock foal will be born this spring to our retired show mare, C Beauty Oil. Currently Zeus (registered both AMHA and AMHR) holds titles as a AMHR Multiple Grand Champion Junior Stallion and Reserve Junior Champion Stallion. A beautiful boy, We may even consider sending him out as a senior stallion.

In looking over the pedigrees for this boy, Castle Rock was again VERY pleased to see that he is a Falabella Blend on the top side of his pedigree, and goes back to (Shadow Oaks) PEPPER, a most famous son of the CHIANTI. Zeus' pedigree includes 2x to CHIANTI, the "grandfather" of miniature appaloosas and Regina, also one of the original imported Falabellas from Argentina. Also on the top side, we found DOUBLE O SEVEN AND A HALF MOTO, National Grand Champion Senior Stallion. On the bottom side, Zeus' pedigree also includes 2x to STOUTS MISTER PRIDE, one of the FOUNDATION STALLIONS, and Little Joe.

Zeus is truly an "Arab" in miniature, with the most beautiful refined head. We can't wait to see what this boy adds to our program.

Senior Herd Sire:

Wellspring Red Sky At Night

AMHA A144836 / AMHR 236598T / FBR pending
Foaled: 07/08/2003
Sorrel Leopard Appaloosa

Sire: Mountain High White Cloud
Dam: Piney's Tar Baby

Look what we found!! A beautiful RED LEOPARD stallion—so our leopard stallion list is almost complete!!!

"Red" could not be any more perfect - being Drum Roll's older (a coming 5 year old) paternal half-brother, and bringing the same FIRE and SPIRIT to our stallion line-up--with that same tail-waving movement, and arched neck prancing that Drum so proudly displayed at the 2007 AMHR Nationals!

On the top side, Red's sire, Mountain High White Cloud, is a producer of Grand and National Grand Champions, and this boy also carries some wonderful Falabella lines. Then on the bottom, there is almost completely leopard appaloosa breeding. Red's dam, Piney's Tar Baby, a black roan appaloosa with lacing, has produced all appaloosa foals. Piney's Tar Baby comes out of such foundation stallions as Davis Commanche (chestnut leopard), out of Dell Teras Jim Dandy (black/blue roan Leopard) out of Dandy Jim, from her dam, Piney's Tootsie Roll, a black leopard mare.

This boy is so beautiful, we may have to send him out to earn his place in the show-ring--like his baby brother!

Red is joining Spotty as a senior herd sire this year, and we have already started choosing his girls. Our 2009 foaling year should be an absolutely spotted wonder-year!!

Junior Herd Sire:

CCMF Legacys Golden Ticket

AMHA 172042 / AMHR 273692 / FBR 285
Palomino Few-spot Appaloosa - Foaled 3/19/2006

Sire: WF Carousel Designer Legacy
Dam: Sulphura's Apache Promise

"Ticket" is an incredibly beautiful palomino few-spot appaloosa colt, sired by Carousel Designer Legacy, an AMHA National Top 10 stallion in Open Halter, Top 5 in Driving, Top 5 in Multi-Color Stallions/Geldings and a Reserve Honor Roll in Open Country Pleasure Driving. Designer Legacy was also the 1999 Western Region Grand Champion in Country Pleasure Driving, and is a stallion with balance, fluid movement and the attitude of royalty that he passes on to his offspring. Ticket's dam is a brown snowcap appaloosa mare carrying the dilute gene. Ticket, a registered Falabella Blend, is intensely appaloosa bred, with the big names in the industry--he is double-bred Broken Lance, going back to Francisco of Kilverstone and Menelek, the most famous and one of the most prolific of the pure Falabella stallions. He also traces his roots to Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan, Dell Teras Jim Dandy and the legendary Chianti.

Ticket can currently be seen in the AMHR show ring, and has earned several titles, including Multiple Grand & Reserve Grand Champion and Junior Champion & Reserve Junior Champion Stallion, and he was named a 2007 TOP TEN NATIONAL ALL-STAR WINNER (8th). We are so pleased he is continuing the "legacy!"

Junior Herd Sire:

Wellspring Drum Roll Please

AMHA A174982 / AMHR 276012T / FBR 314
Foaled: 05/22/2006
Silver Leopard Appaloosa

Sire: Mountain High White Cloud
Dam: Simple Pleasures Crystal Sky

Look what the Appaloosa Fairy brought! DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!! "Drum," is a most beautiful boy, with spots galore. He qualified for the 2007 AMHR Nationals, and stood 3rd at the AMHR Nationals in Multi-Color Stallions, Over! We are very happy with the Appy Fairy.

His sire, Mountain High White Cloud, is a producer of Grand and National Grand Champions, and this boy also carries some wonderful Falabella lines. Then to top it all off, Drum goes back to ORION LIGHT VAN'T HUTTENEST, the leading sire of National and Reserve National Grand Champions.

We can't wait for 2008, when he can begin siring his own group of spotted babies.

With Spotty, Ticket & Drum, the appaloosa foaling season of 2009 should be outstanding!

Junior Herd Sire:

Millenium Wind I C Spots

AMHR 271276T / FBR Pending
Foaled: 05/12/2006
Sooty Buckskin Appaloosa with Blanket & Snowflakes

Sire: Silver Meadows Millenium Wind
Dam: Jandts Ticki Tocks

"Wind" is a coming 2 year old, and is taking his place here at Castle Rock to mature and hopefully become our new driving stallion. Currently registered only AMHR, Wind is leggy and refined, with long front legs, and a nice shoulder which seems to move with him. He is very straight, with a perfect bite, having a spotted blanket, snowflakes and a rich chocolate color. Add to that a tail waving trot, and we can't wait.

In looking over the pedigrees for this boy, Castle Rock was VERY pleased to see that he is a Falabella Blend on both the top and bottom sides. He has an extensive appaloosa pedigree, and goes back to original imported Falabellas from Argentina—including 2x to CHIANTI, the "grandfather" of miniature appaloosas, Sherry, a Champion Falabella Mare, and HNF's Senior, another foundation Falabella and Rancho Casa Bellas Chianti II, a Black Roan Snowflake Appaloosa with black points. COLOR—it is "in his blood!!"

Wind will be used for breeding a few mares in spring of 2008, and we can't wait to see what this boy will throw. We look forward to beautiful appaloosa foals in 2009 from our 3 young boys and our wonderful senior appaloosa stallion: Sweetwaters Texas Spotty!

Junior Herd Sire:

Woodstock Norths What If By Guten

AMHA A 181665 / AMHR 284642T
Foaled: 05/21/2007
Color: Chocolate with Flaxen Mane & Tail
Sire: Dakotas Lille Guten – 32.75”
Dam: Sun Raes Eclipse – 30”

Concentrating the Gold Melody Boy lines has done it again!!

A 5 ¾ INCH CANON LENGTH!! SMALL, DID I SAY SMALL? MAKE IT TINY AND PERFECT!!

This colt carries the tremendous Arabian type, with the elegance and balance of the Gold Melody bloodline. On the bottom side, “Eclipse” is the daughter of WITTMAACKS ECLIPSE, direct son of JOHNSTONS GOLD BOY, one of 3 remaining sons and the smallest foal ever sired by the Legendary FOUNDATION STALLION: GOLD MELODY BOY. Eclipse, a 30” mare, is lab tested to carry the DILUTE GENE, and has extreme lacing on her back. The Gold Melody Boy lines were concentrated by breeding this mare to her half brother, that magnificent stallion: DAKOTAS LILLE GUTEN, with the same CHOCOLATE color with white mane and tail the Guten is so FAMOUS for. Guten is the holder of many Grand and Reserve Championships in Halter, and has produced multiple National Grand Champions, Top Ten, Futurity and Driving Champions and Hall of Fame offspring.

We have high hopes for this young colt, as he begins to mature into the fine stallion we know he can be!
