MEETING MINUTES
May 7, 2012

President Jess Magilke called the meeting to order @ 7:30 pm @ the grounds.

Minutes of the April meeting were read by Secretary Jen Volk. Dave Geier made a motion to approve the minutes as read; seconded by Kathy Flach.

Treasurer's Report was given by Jackie Magilke. Lonnie Eichele made a motion to approve the report; seconded by Julie Schild.

Old Business:

Dean Morley reported on the Ranch Rodeo (June 2nd @ 6 pm), including the following costs: announcer and music ($500), cattle ($700) and judges ($150 x 2). The events will include Trailer Relay, Trailer Loading, Steer Mugging, Steer Branding and Wild Cow Milking. We are still looking for teams. Our Facebook page, as well as the ND Ranch Rodeo page will be utilized to advertise the event. Other forms of advertising were discussed. Kathy made a motion, seconded by Claudia Isaak to accept the KHND proposal of 160 ads for $375. Jess will contact Rick Jensen. Dave Geier made a motion, seconded by Bob Flach to also contact Herald Press, Telegraph, Peddler and Bisman for ads. Jodi Eichele was nominated to post the Bisman ad; Kathy will contact the remainder. Dave Geier made a motion to accept the gate admission charges that were discussed at the April meeting (Adults =$8, 6-12 yr = $5, and 5 & under free.). Seconded by Kathy Flach.

Schwann's Truckload Sale booklets and order blanks were dispersed among the present members. The preorders need to be called in or faxed by May 25th. Brenda will email out the cover and individuals can print and paste on the booklets. Jen will email members a reminder to get the orders in. Can also drop the order forms off at Bob Flach's office.

Kathy will bring a list of the sponsors to the next meeting. Will go door-to-door to get remaining sponsors as needed.

Bob reported on the horse show which has been set for Sunday, August 12. He has a judge lined up.

Work nights will be every Tuesday and Thursdsay starting the week of May 14th and will go until the Ranch Rodeo and as needed after that.

The timer is here. Lonnie will work on it at the next work night.

Jen discussed the Fun Nights. The start date had to be backed up to June 13th due to a conflict for many of the participants. She will communicate info on the club's Facebook page www.facebook.com/SheyenneRiverSaddleClub.

Kathy will contact Aaron Opdahl about making the "No Trespassing: Private Club Members Only" sign.

Bob reported on the gravel for the road leading up to the clubhouse and for the Texas Crossing @ a cost of $1200-1300. Susag has guaranteed the gravel will be delivered by June 1st. Lonnie made a motion to order the gravel for the road leading up to the club house and for the Texas Crossing as reported by Bob; seconded by Dave Geier.

Jess discussed the Cancer ride which is scheduled for Aug. 4th and 5th at Faul Campground. Jackie will make sponsorship forms.

Family memberships were discussed. Jess states he was unable to contact anyone at the insurance company to discuss further. Lonnie made a motion, which he later withdrew, to state that a Family Membership includes those family members 21 or younger. Lonnie made a motion that Family Memberships include two adults and their children <18 years of age as of January 1st; and, any contact person must be a paid, adult member of Sheyenne River Saddle Club. Seconded by Bob. This will be voted on at the next meeting.

New Business:

Bob will look at the speaker system as it was reported that only one was working during last fall's play day.

Dave Geier made a motion placing Kathy Flach in charge of arranging an electrician to get the wiring done for the renovations in the clubhouse; seconded by Lonnie Eichele.

Jess proposed that we buy new toilets; the motion was tabled as Dean states he is going to fix the toilets.

The next meeting will be Monday, June 4th @ 7:30 @ the grounds.

Dave Geier made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Sheri Kraft.
