Meadowlark Percherons and Quarter Horses is located at the scenic and very quiet town of St. Alphonse, Manitoba, Canada. We are equine ranchers, owned and operated by Keith and Shelley Conrad along with our 4 children--Kody, Kelsey, Karl and Kolby. Everyday we work together with our horses and enjoy earning our living by being with the horses!!
We are members of the Cdn Livestock Records, AQHA, Manitoba Percheron Belgian Club, and Naeric. We are proud to say that our farm herd consists of 187 registered horses. All percherons are registered with Canadian Livestock Records Corp. Our quarter horses are all AQHA registered, and the crossbreds can all be registered as performance sport horses. Each year the foals can all be registered with the above mentioned registeries. All our foals will be enrolled into the Naeric Incentive program as well.
Our time is spent together doing chores, training to get ready for the horse shows and trail riding!! Showing percheorns has been our major focus the last few years. However, while Dad is at one end of the show ring with the Percherons, the kids and mom are at the other with the ponies!!
We home raise the horses we show. Careful thought goes into our percheron breeding program. All our stallions have premier bloodlines with offspring doing well in the show ring. They are picked out as foals, then brought in to training for 2 years to get ready for the show ring. We do all the training, fitting and shoeing for these events. It takes time and knowledge, but it is our passion. Very self satisfing when we can sell our horses to a happy customer. We then start over again the next year!!!
