| Montlakes Wesbrook Warrior AMHA / AMHR registered We decided it was time to introduce a new bloodline to our herd & decided “Warrior” would be one of 2 new additions. We can’t resist black pintos! He comes from a long line of foundation Falabella’s & Bond bloodlines. We bred him in 07 to one mare for a “test” & loved everything about his offspring. We think you will love them too. Our first intention was to train "Mixer" to drive in country pleasure competition like his sire, Century Farms Arabian Renegade. He had a rough time starting at 6 months old. We are not sure what happened but we found him in the field with a compound fracture to his right rear leg. Dr Matthew Sachs & Dr Marshall Taylor of Rhea County Animal hospital were not sure he would heal correctly but we decided to take a chance and start treatment. The biggest concern was stopping infection and regaining blood flow to the bone. The wound was packed with strong antibacterial cream and dressed with a cast to restrict all movement. Every 3 days the doctors would apply more antibacterial cream and re-dress the wound. It wasn’t long before the half inch of dead bone that had been contaminated and lost all blood flow fell off. New bone started growing and attached at the break exactly where it should. Finally we were able to remove the cast and before long Mixer was running along the fence wanting to join his pasture mates. His leg healed wonderfully, thanks to the vets at Rhea County Animal Hospital. They are about a 30 minute drive from Chattanooga but their knowledge and skillful techniques are well worth the drive. As you can see in the picture, his confirmation and size, 26”, make him perfect for his new job as a stud to our smallest mares. We are in the process of building a new farm on our mountain property on Sour Mash Lane. We plan on naming his foals after alcoholic drinks and famous drunks. Visit us again next year.
